În data de 24 mai 2018 s-a desfasurat o nouă ediție TopHotel Tourism & Leisure Investment Conference la JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel.
În cadrul conferinței s-au reunit specialiști din domeniul industriei ospitalității, reprezentanți ai autorităților locale și managerii celor mai mari branduri hoteliere internaționale prezente pe piața romanească, cu scopul de a identifica provocările și oportunitățile de business și de a analiza cele mai importante schimbări din domeniu.
Unul dintre aspectele discutate a fost și cel legat de managementul destinației turistice, care trebuie să includă o strategie de promovare bine definită. Pe lângă dezvoltarea destinației în sine, pentru a avea ce promova, un punct forte ar fi prelungirea sezonului în destinație, iar acest lucru include realizarea de centre balneare și de SPA care să funcționeze tot timpul anului.
După încheierea Conferinței, a avut loc Gala de premiere TopHotel Awards 2018, un eveniment în care au fost premiate hotelurile, agențiile de turism, restaurantele și profesioniștii care au marcat evoluția industriei hoteliere, a turismului și ospitalității din România.
Printre premianți s-au numărat și câteva hoteluri aflate în stațiunile balneare, semn că acestea se vor dezvolta ca urmare a investițiilor realizate în industria hotelieră din Romania.
